Course content
Optical anisotropy, types and properties of optical crystals, Pockels effect, Kerr effect, optical activity, Faraday effect, electrooptical and acoustooptical modulation of light, optics of liquid crystals, spatial light modulators.

  • Preparation for the Exam - 50 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Light propagation in anisotropic media, principles of electrooptics, magnetooptics and acoustooptics, liquid crystals and spatial light modulators.
Knowledge of the properties of anisotropic media and their applications, principles of electrooptics and acoustooptics.
Prerequisites
Knowledge relevant to master´s degree in Physics.

Oral exam
