Course content
The aim of the course is to develop knowledge of the specificities of advanced optical materials in the spectacle technology and methods of their application. Course contents: Basic optical properties of mineral, organic, photochromic and polycarbonate materials, their historical development, present situation and development directions. Colored lenses, and measuring their properties, gradient lenses and special filters. Anti-glare, protiabrazivní, antistatic, Topcoat layer and trends of surface treatments. Basic design principles and types of progressive lenses. Their historical development and current generation of personalized progressive lenses.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop knowledge of the specificities of advanced optical materials in the spectacle technology and methods of their application.
The course focuses on the acquisition of knowledge. Students will expand knowledge of modern technologies for the production and processing of optical parts and their correct application.
