Key learning outcomes The graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills in fundamental mathematical disciplines (mathematical analysis, algebra, numerical mathematics), in probability theory and mathematical statistics and in the field of applications of mathematics in economy (operations research, decision-making methods, financial and actuarial mathematics). They are able to apply their mathematical knowledge to solve real problems from economical practice. According to their chosen focus of studies the graduates have detailed and up-to-date understanding of banking or insurance. The practical skills in the field of finance are obtained by professional training in banks and insurance companies. Broader applicability of the graduates of this study programme in practice is achieved by their good understanding of economics. The graduates are also skilled in working with basic office, mathematical, statistical and accounting software, can communicate in English, are able to work with English literature and know how to present the result of their work.

Profile of the programme unspecified
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduate basic knowledge of theoretical mathematics, probability theory, mathematical and applied statistics and from the field of applications of mathematics in economy. The graduate's understanding of economics and his/her related skills (particularly in banking, or alternatively in insurance) are at such level, that is sufficient for his/her successful career in financial institutions. The graduate is capable of creative applications of mathematical methods to solve specific economical tasks. He/she can also work well with mathematical and statistical software and is able to communicate actively in English. He/she is well prepared for the work of mathematician in the field of economics (particularly in finance) and for further development of his/her skills and knowledge in the follow-up master studies of a mathematical-economic type. The graduates can find employment in banks and insurance companies, in the public service and in companies.
