Key learning outcomes

According to their specialization, the students will gain deep insight into various branches of pure and applied mathematics (functional analysis, modern and classical theory of differential equations, dynamical systems, statistical modelling). They will also acquire extensive practical skills in the formulation of mathematical models, their analysis, solution techniques, optimization and interpretation. The ability to work with standard mathematical software, knowledge of procedural programming, and communication in English are integral parts of the learning outcomes. The main learning outcome consists of deep understanding and professional mastering of applied mathematics, which represents the language of science and technology.

The graduates have sufficient theoretical background and also a broad range of practical mathematical skills that allow them to solve problems in the scientific, technical and economic practice. The graduates are able to teamwork, communicate and present their results in English. Graduates are capable of creative analytical thinking and quick orientation in a variety of research, scientific and analytical tasks. Moreover, the graduates will be able to independently learn any of the fields, where mathematics is the key to understanding. According to their specialization, the graduates apply for positions in research and development in private and public sectors, analytical departments of companies, health care research, data processing, basic research, and teaching at secondary schools and universities. The graduates may also continue studying in a PhD program in mathematics or related fields.
