Key learning outcomes The Bachelor program in Biochemistry prepares University-degree specialists with a wide knowledge within all branches of chemistry, such as general, inorganic, organic, analytical and physical chemistry, and from biological disciplines such as general biology, animal and plant physiology, microbiology, with extended knowledge in biochemistry, including basic biochemistry, focused to the characterization of biomolecules, metabolic processes and their regulations, to clinical biochemistry, basic molecular biology, immunochemistry and biotechnological approaches. The aim of the studies is to enable students to obtain both quality theoretical knowledge corresponding to the actual state-of-the-art and practical experience based on passing a variety of laboratory exercises focused to individual chemical and biological disciplines, with emphasis on biochemistry, and passing through vocational practice, excursions and realization of the experimental part of bachelor work. The goal is to prepare bachelor-degree experts, which will be able to use their theoretical and practical knowledge to successfully incorporate into practical service or to continue in subsequent Master studies in biochemistry.

Profile of the programme academical
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples Graduates will acquire fundamental knowledge of mathematics, physics, inorganic, organic, physical chemistry and biochemistry, complemented by knowledge from area of biology, microbiology, physiology and molecular biology. Graduates can serve as qualified personal in scientific research and development project. They are candidate for job posts in chemical, food, agricultural, pharmaceutical and clinical laboratories focused on bioanalytical methods, and also in industrial laboratories concerned with biotechnology processes and investigation. Major part of Bachelor student is expected to continue in one of continuing Master studies of Biochemistry program.
