Key learning outcomes The graduate of the master´s program Bioinorganic Chemistry has skills necessary for performing all chemical laboratory procedures in the field of synthesis, analysis and basic study of biological activity of inorganic compounds. As a chemist, the graduate is able to fully cooperate on development and study of new drugs with specialists in medicine, molecular biology and biochemistry. The theoretical knowledge and practical skills in chemistry in combination with considerably wide knowledge of biochemistry and molecular biology allow the graduate to find a vacancy in a wide area involving chemical, biochemical laboratories in chemical or medicinal institutions dealing with research and development or production of biologically active compounds or pharmaceuticals. The graduate can continue in doctoral studies in related chemical field. The graduate has communication skills including language skills, which enable them to find employment in the Czech Republic as well as abroad.

Profile of the programme academical
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduate is able not only to independently solve problems related to the preparation and study of biologically active compounds, but chemical problems in general. They have wide knowledge and experimental skills in the field of synthesis and physical-chemical characterization of inorganic, and especially, coordination compounds. The graduate can be employed in research of biologically active compounds, but also in chemical industry and basic or applied chemical research.
