Key learning outcomes Both Comparative Politics and Theories of Democracy provide students with comprehensive insight into significant aspects of Political Science. Students will be given both a theoretical background as well as practical knowledge about the political phenomena of concrete countries. Electoral Studies represents another basic platform which will give students further understanding of Political Science research. Moreover, this field also grants specific and internal focus on electoral political competition as it is one of the most fundamental issues of democracy. Also, the European Contemporary History block is significant for proper understanding of current political developments and many research difficulties. This block relies on the contextual interpretation of European history from WWI to the modern era. However, it does not follow the chronological development of certain countries. Beyond theoretical knowledge, this Programme allows students to gain skills in individual as well as team analytical work and basic/intermediate quantitative and qualitative methods of Political Science research. Finally, students may deepen their language skills, esp. English language, as this is a necessary component for success in this field.
