Key learning outcomes Graduates should be experts with an adequately broad scope of learning in the theory and analysis of media communication. Instead of a narrow specialization in a single area of media reflection, the graduates should have sufficiently comprehensive knowledge providing them with wider competence and thus adaptability in the conditions of one of the most dynamically transforming sectors of contemporary society. The double-major version also assumes a "synergy" of competence acquired in the other major, which will render the graduates with a deeper specialization and wider application potential. The structure and proportion of the courses completed are based on the following lines: 1 required courses provide the graduates with proficiency and competence forming a framework of learning tied to the structure of media studies, including proficiency in media research - the character of these disciplines enables the graduates to work as analysts or theoreticians in media-related jobs and to have adequate understanding of the given field and current learning. 2 electives extend the graduates' "required learning" (required courses) on several levels : a) theoretical knowledge within the individual planes of learning related to the media studies is increased (culture-oriented analyses of the media; television and new media; history of media; media representation etc.) b) this learning is also developed further on the level of analyses (seminar) so that the graduate is able to apply the acquired knowledge in specific research c) the graduates will be able to apply knowledge acquired in the other major in the investigation of the media and media contents 3 electives falling within contextualizing and applied disciplines allow graduates to acquire further learning and competence, which they will utilize in their future careers.

Profile of the programme academical
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples A student who has completed the follow-up master's degree in Media Studies will have acquired a broad range of knowledge in the theory and analysis/research of media communication. Graduates find employment in media, research agencies, press service and communication departments, science and educational institutions, but also in non-governmental offices, state administration, and local governments. Careers are found both in theoretical reflections of the discipline and, on the practical level, in application and research, as e.g. media communication experts or analysts specialized in various segments of the interdisciplinary field of study (media sociology, media history, media language, media literacy, different types of media production analysis, media philosophy, communication theory, etc.).
