Key learning outcomes The aim of the study programme is to acquire skills from linguistic and literary disciplines. Synchronous language status is studied in linguistic disciplines. Interpreting and translation subjects are added in the third year of study. The purpose of the study of literature is to acquire theory and to get acquainted with historical developments of the 19th and the 20th century. The aim is to achieve the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Profile of the programme academical
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples Graduates of this programme are well prepared to acquire the knowledge and skills from the fields of linguistics, literature, and translation. Students will gain a communicative competence in Russian corresponding to B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Graduates of Russian philology (in combination with another major at Palacky University) will be well prepared for jobs that require the ability to apply the knowledge of Russian language, literature, and culture. They are also able to work independently, and formulate as well as defend their own professional opinions. They will find employment in a wide range of professional jobs, e.g. in lower management, regional and national cultural institutions, translation agencies, institutions of lifelong learning, libraries, archives, free time institutions, and the media.
