Key learning outcomes The aim of this programme is to provide students with communication skills in contemporary Italian language at the level C1 and with knowledge of Italian literature, cultural studies and history. Attention is also paid on developing the ability to critically evaluate information, to produce stylistically appropriate oral and written texts in both Italian and Czech language and on supporting their invention and independence in managing assigned tasks.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduates of the three year Bachelor course in Italian Philology are qualified Italianists who master modern Italian language at the level C1 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They are provided with an orientation in Italian linguistics, literature, history and culture and are able to fill the demands of the business and public area for qualified specialists. They can work in companies, libraries or in publishing houses in the field of background research, annotations, technical texts and literature written in Italian. The graduates can make use of their skills as assistants of interpreters and translators, editors in media, tourist guides and delegates in travel agencies and tourist centres. Auspicious graduates can also proceed with their studies in two year Master course.
