Key learning outcomes The program in English Philology is aimed at producing experts in the field, culminating in a M.A. degree. Their professional profile corresponds to current requirements of employers and allows further specialization in the field. On the level of the M.A. degree, the main expertise (apart from language fluency and overall cognitive abilities) is a certain theoretical philological discipline: linguistics or literature and literature theory. The study is multifaceted in order to allow for an individual specialization and prepares the graduates for the modern world, ensuring their permanent employability with respect to ongoing social, economic and technological changes.

Profile of the programme academical
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduate obtains a M.A. degree in English philology. They acquire a fluency in the English language, an advanced knowledge of English grammar (including theoretical disciplines in linguistics) and a knowledge of British and American literature and cultural studies. The graduates (if they pass the pedagogic module) are fully qualified to teach at secondary and higher schools of education and academic institutions, they can become translators and interpreters, and are also prepared to apply for a Ph.D. program in the English language or Anglo-American literature.
