Key learning outcomes The aim of this study programme is to provide the students with a deep knowledge of the language not just as a grammatical structure, but also focusing also on its role in the society and in the historical and cultural context. Besides broadening knowledge and enhancing the language culture in students, this programme focuses on leading students into independent expert work, critical search and evaluation of information, and into a convincing presentation of the results of their work.

Profile of the programme academical
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduates of the two year Master course in Italian Philology achieve perfect knowledge of Italian, reaching the level C2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Furthermore, they are qualified to create and comprehend specialized texts, master scientific thinking skills in the field of linguistics and literary criticism and they are able to take part in scientific disputes. The graduates are qualified to work in publishing houses as reviewers of literature written in Italian, in research institutions as well as in foreign companies. They can also be employed in diplomatic service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or they can work as translators and interpreters for the European Union. Auspicious graduates can also proceed with their studies in the Ph.D. course.
