Course content
Reading of English scientific texts and translation thereof based on analysis of sentences and focused on gaining knowledge of chemical terminology. Translation from Czech to English.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
Promotion of language skills related to comprehension of scientific texts in English and translation from Czech to English
Expansion of vocabulary. Ability to recognize the function and mutual relationship of words in a sentence based on determination of sentence constituents. Knowledge of the most frequently used formulations, phrases and idioms occuring in English scientific texts. Capability to translate from Czech to English with respect to the mutually different syntactic and semantic rules of both languages.
Successfully completed CHA1 course.

75% attendace in seminars and colloquium.
