Course content
Sanitarily important factors - physical, chemical and biological - impact on human organism. Influence of the sun ray on human organism. Sources of the air pollution. Photochemical reactions, impact on human health. Origin and effect of gas mixtures on humans. Biological impact of the noise. Mutagenous, teratogenic and carcinogenic substances - mechanisms of an impact, consequences, detection in the environment, prevention. Toxic influence of the toxic metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic) and PCB on human organism. Types and biological impacts of the dust. Influence of the working environment - effect of the physical factors, toxic substances. Delimitation of the highest allowed concentrations - biological exposition tests - examples. Health risks linked to nutrition. Biologic and chemical risks of the food. Health risks for the human from the soil and water. Spread of the infection. Characterisation of aerial infections - examples. Process of the infection spread in alimentary diseases and intoxications. Problems of the zoonotic diseases - occurrence of this type of diseases in our country. Characterisation of an early infections. Transmissive diseases. Epidemiology of non-infectious diseases. Anti-epidemiological and preventive actions.

Student should be able to (after attending the course): - Apply experience from the lecture in practical tasks. - Describe impact of the environment on human health and wellness. - Recall new laws and rules in commune hygiene. - Define influence of heavy metals, PAU and other toxic matters on human helath. - Define possible preventive actions in delimitations of harmful influence of the environment.
Prerequisites
The course builds on other courses in previous grades (physiology, toxicology).

Mark, Oral exam

exam: knowledge in extent of the lectures and literature credit: 100% attendance, written test, 80% correctly answered questions
