Course content
Excursion activities in the system of pedagogical methods, inclusion of excursion into teaching plan, excursions planning: educational objectives, selection of points of interest and routes, transportation, meals, lodging, participants' involvement. Safety of participants, protection of nature and landscape. Leadership during the excursion, documentation, collection of material, participants' activation, work with the timetable, operational changes, alternate variants. Excursion ending. Conservation and preservation of collected material. Outcomes of the excursion, their evaluation and their educational use. Application of group & coop working methods, use of ICT.

Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Observation, Demonstration, Projection (static, dynamic), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Attendace - 4 hours per semester
  • Excursion - 20 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 4 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Students will learn about professional, educational and organizational tasks in the planning and implementation of scientific excursions organized as part of the curriculum or as a leisure activity.
After completing the course the student should: - independently plan and manage the field excursion aimed at natural sciences, - participate on pedagogical leadership and evaluation of the excursion, - effectively use the excursions for obtaining natural materials for biology classes.
Prerequisites
Individual work with maps, internet searching, realistic thinking.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student

involvement in the preparation and execution of the field excursion: 2 two-hour seminaries + homework (ca 4 hours) + participation on the two-day trip (end of semester - dates will be negotiated with regard to participants' time schedules)
