Course content
The students will take active part in the morning round and outpatient clinics; will carry out routine work in the infant department, the department for older children and the intensive care unit; will perform blood sampling, including the taking of venous, capillary blood, will assist during specialized procedures (bone-marrow puncture, lumbar puncture, cathetrization, intubation), or other procedures, such as sonography, preparation of infusions etc. They will help with documentation, interpretation of laboratory results and will study the principles of care of chronically ill children.

Learning outcomes
Practical education of pediatrics is organized by the Department of Pediatrics (2 weeks). During the stay in the Department of Pediatrics (1 week) student will spent one week working directly on the site with the patients. Student will be involved in to the ward rounds and will be assisting at the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Student will work with documentation, and interpretation of laboratory examinations will be important part of the stay. In the second part of the practical education student will work with general practitioner (1 week) and under his/her careful supervision will be introduced into the curative and preventive care and vaccination.
Student will be able to use all information in the children´s preventive care. He will be able to be involved into the diagnostic and therapeutic actions under supervision of the experienced pediatrician.

Basic knowledge anatomie.
