Course content
The course provides students with basic information, recommendations and experience in the field of communication not only in the Oncology. Participants will improve their communication skills with the patients and their relatives especially with the telling the bad news (diagnosis of serious or malignant disease, informing about the failure of cytostatic treatment and inevitable decision to stop the therapy). Possible patients´ reactions to bad news, most frequent mistakes in communication between physician and patient, ethical and legal aspects of communicating the bad news in medicine will be discussed.

Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Demonstration, Projection (static, dynamic), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
The aim is to provide students with basic information, recommendations and experience in the field of communication not only in the Oncology. Participants will improve their communication skills with the patients and their relatives especially with the telling the bad news (diagnosis of serious or malignant disease) informing about the failure of cytostatic treatment and inevitable decision to stop the therapy. Possible patients´ reactions to bad news, most frequent mistakes in communication between physician and patient, ethical and legal aspects of communicating the bad news in medicine will be discussed.
After completing the course students will be able to implement the obtained knowledge into the practical approach to patients.

Pasees the trird year of the study of General Medicine.
