Course content
The seminars comprise examination methods in cardiology and basic diagnoses in cardiology, such as IHD, arterial hypertension, pulmonary embolism, cardiomyopathy, heart failure etc. The practicals are divided into two parts. In one part, students become familiar with ECG and are shown basic arrhythmias. At the same time, they are required to evaluate ECG and recognize serious arrhythmia on their own. In the second part, they are present at one of the examination methods carried out and available at the department, such as bicycle ergometry, tilt table test, right-sided cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, invasive electrophysiological study etc. Also, they have an opportunity to learn about the organization of work at the department. Furthermore, if possible, they are present at some therapeutic procedures, such as electrical cardioversion, pacemaker implantation etc. Also included is manipulation with medical aids related to the care.

Learning outcomes
Acquirement of basic information about cardiology, diagnoses in cardiology, examination and therapeutic procedures. Acquirement of the ability to evaluate ECG and to recognize basic arrhythmias.
After completing the subject the student is able to implement the gained knowledge in a diagnostic-therapeutic approach to patients, especially in the field of ECG diagnostics and related examination methods.

The attendance at seminars and practical training (100%), student´s activity.
