Course content
1. Health of the Czech Republic - the health care system. 2.The health status of the population of the Czech Republic. International classification of diseases, injuries and causes of death. 3.Social security in the Czech Republic. 4. Community and community care. Community services and institutions with a focus on health and social care. 5. Comprehensive view of home care in the Czech Republic. 6. Health and social care for the chronically ill and convalescent patients. 7. Health and social care for the elderly. 8. Health and social care for people with disabilities. 9. Palliative and hospice care. 10. Social care in relation to health care. 11. Ethics of health and social work.

Learning outcomes
Introduction to the system of medical and social care for adults. Disseminate this information to students about the basics of health care organizations in the Czech Republic and the specifics of each category of care for clients in hospital and home care. Emphasis is placed on care of the chronically ill and convalescent patients, care for the elderly, disabled and dying people. It also deals with issues of a smooth transition from health care to social care, including after-care services or benefits of social assistance and social security of the socially disadvantaged.
After absovlování subject students should be able to: - Explain the organization of the social system in the Czech Republic - Compare the system of social and health care in other countries

basic knowledge of the healthcare system in the Czech Republic
