Course content
Fundamentals of protection of health and safety. Responsibility for occupational safety and procedure in case of injury. Safety in a room, in a gymnasium, during transfers, during games, in a storm, protection from electric shock, safety when near a fire, fire safety, safety when working with tools, during major sporting events, during shooting, during swimming, during night events. Conduct in emergency situations. Protection from substance abuse and prevention. First Aid. Hygienic conditions for recreational activities.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Demonstration, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

  • Preparation for the Exam - 30 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course aims to introduce students to the basics of health and safety for children and youth during school activities, sports events, stays in the nature, collective transfers and emergency situations. Emphasis is put on acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills in providing first aid, fire protection, ensuring safety and hygienic conditions for collective events.
Students gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the provision and organization of activities within the educational process (school trips, fitness events, mass movements, holidays, camps, etc.). Student will be able to organize activities for school children in emergency situations (accident, fire, flood, etc.). Students gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in first aid.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of human somatology and child biology.Basic knowledge of first aid. Basic knowledge of first aid.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Didactic Test

After completing the course, students should be able to: - Interpret the specific activities of children and youth for their safety and health - To ensure safe conditions and health of children and youth - Evaluate the safety and health conditions in specific activities with children and youth.
