Course content
Ionising radiation dosimetry, safety at work with ionising radiation sources. Characteristics of Geiger-Müller detector. Comparison of the efficiency of the scintillation and G-M detectors. Verification of the statistical nature of the decay law. Determination of the weight product of radiation reduction. Interaction of radiation with matter. Measurement of radiator spectra. Decay half-time of 137Ba-measuring. The study of electron-positron annihilation. Experimental observation of Mössbauer effect and hyperfine interactions. Determination of the mean linear reach and radiation energy. Determination of the half-time of decay for long-term radionuclides (40K). Extraction methods for separation of radionuclides. Ionex chromatography. Uranium/thorium separation.
