Course content
A special attention is paid to medieval mysticism (Meister Eckhart), humanism (Lorenzo Valla), Nicholas of Cusa, Florentine Platonism (Marsilio Ficino, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola), Aristotelism (Padova), the relationship of art and philosophy (Leonardo da Vinci) and skepticism (Michel Montaigne).

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on selected topics of medieval and renaissance philosophy. A special attention is paid to medieval mysticism (Meister Eckhart), humanism (Lorenzo Valla), Nicholas of Cusa, Florentine Platonism (Marsilio Ficino, Giovanni Pico della Mirandola), Aristotelism (Padova), the relationship of art and philosophy (Leonardo da Vinci) and skepticism (Michel Montaigne).
Independent critical thinking and analysis of primary sources.

2nd year students of bachelor´s degree programmes

Dialog

The final grade will be based on the disscussion on the selected topics presented by the instructor and analysis of primary sources.
