Course content
Course thematically extends and practically applies knowledge of regional planning and urbanism. It will consist of discussions, field research and seminar works presentations. It deals with: development of settlement system, issue of urbanization and suburbanization and their economic, ecological and social consequences. The most important phenomena and processes: suburbanization of population, retail, industry and other services - examples from the USA, western Europe and situation in the CR; tools of regional of unsustainable regional planning, institutional framework, case studies.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Projection (static, dynamic), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Semestral Work - 16 hours per semester
  • Attendace - 24 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Application of spatial planing in the form of project, accompanied by discussion and oppinion of experts.
Recall basic terms of sustainable development of landscape.
Passing of settlement and population geography course.

Assessment methods and criteria

Elaboration and presentation of seminar work, final written test.
