Course content
The course is dealing with the processes of transformation of the Czech state. Individual components of that process will be analysed separately emphasising their long-term continuity before and after the 13th century which is considered to be crucial time period. It means e. g. development of medieval settlement including evolution of medieval town, inland currency, silver mining, evidences of the form of villages etc. HF

Learning outcomes
The goal of this seminar is to describe the development of the Přemyslid state mostly in the 13th century and to get to know fundamental literature and sources relevant for this period of so called tranformation of Bohemian state. HF
A graduate of this course is capable of orientation in fundamental trends of social, economical and political history including the knowledge of relevant sources and recent historiography. HF
Prerequisites
Student should have some basic knowledge about Middle Ages, esp. in Bohemia. HF

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

1. Active participation in lessons, max. 2 unexcused absences. 2. The student will read at least one of the books from the list. Then he will write an essay (2 pages) concerning his own view on the book. 3. Passing the final test. HF
