Course content
1. Grundprinzipien des EU Rechts. EuGH: van Gend & Loos und Costa /ENEL) 2. Haftung der Mitgliedstaaten. Nichtumsetzung der Richtlinie - Schadensersatz (EuGH Frankovich und Brasserie du Pecheur) 3. Der Binnenmarkt und die Grundfreiheiten. (EuGH van Gend & Loos) 4. Der freie Warenverkehr - Diskriminierungsverbot (EuGH Kommission vs. Italien und Reinheitsgebot) 5. Der freie Warenverkehr - Verbot mengenmäßiger Einschränkungen und Maßnahmen gleicher Wirkung (EuGH: Dassonvill) 6. Verletzung der Warenverkehrsfreiheit - Rechtferigungsgründe (EuGH: REWE - Cassis de Dijon) 7. Freizügigkeit der Arbeitnehmer. (EuGH: Bosman) 8. Dienstleistungsfreiheit. (EuGH: Kohl) 9. Learning outcomes
One term long and optional subject is aimed to extending of language and professional competence during the work with judgement of EJC and with the putting through the legal regulation and arguments to facts of the case and verdict. Condition of registration is exam of the special foreign language (german as the 1. or 2. foreign language) or obtional subject International law and Law of EU.
Those students who complete this subject will acquire knowledge of technical legal terminology connected with the Law of EU as well as active and passive language skills in the area of authentic texts of the judicial decisions of the European Court of Justice (linguistic analysis of text and its simplification/ linguistic interpretation of legal information based on the text analyzed). The lessons are based on selected parts of rulings related to the specific topics discussed. Students will also deal with language as well as content tasks. The lessons are in German and are supposed to be performed as a workshop.
Prerequisites
Lessons will follow extending of passiv language competence - understanding of reading (various types and levels of reading text understanding) and active language competence of speaking - reproduction of the fundamental intent of verdict.

Student performance

In order to get the credit for the written test the students must attend the seminars in the extent required by the tutor and they must also meet all the requirements set by the tutor for the specific type of seminar.
