1. Logical and physical architecture of the database management system 2. Query optimization 3. Distributed database systems 4. Strategies used in OLTP and OLAP applications 5. Security of database applications

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to extend knowledge about database systems theoretically as well as practically. Problems are demonstrated and practically solved using Oracle 10g Object Oriented Relational System.
