Course content
<ol> <li>Computer networks: its structure, architecture, standards, data transfer attributes and technologies. <li>Local area networks: technologies and protocols. <li>Wide area networks: technologies and protocols. <li>Netowk interconnection devices: switch, bridge, router. <li>Internet: its history, characteristics, IP, TCP, UDP protocols. <li>Internal services, algorithms and protocols: DHCP, DNS, firewall, QoS, forwarding, NAT. <li>Application protocols: HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, SSH. </lo>

The students become familiar with basic concepts of computer networks.
Recognize and explain principles and methods of network protocols.

Oral exam, Written exam

Active participation in class. Completion of assigned homeworks. Passing the oral (or written) exam.
