Course content
The course focuses on these topics: development of political system in Belarus in 1990 - 1996 the authority and the opposition in Lukashenka Belarus presidential elections in 2001,2006 foreign policy of Belarus

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to inform students about current politics in Lukashenka´s Belarus. The course deals with trends in politics of Belarus from break up of communist rule in Eastern Europe till present. The course emphasizes on analysis of key aspects of Alyaksander Lukashenka regime as well as a characteristics of home and external policy of the country. Discussion of students about current problems of Belarus is a part of the course, as well.
Students gain knowledge of development and character of political system in Belarus and know current political situation of the country.
No special skills of students are required.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Requirements: students are required to attend regularly the course, to prepare a presentation on the defined theme and pass an exam.
