Course content
1. The key terms: moderating, the presenter, the moderator, the quizmaster, etc.; 2. the elementary manners of breathing and its practice, the economy of breathing in the spoken discourse. 3. The correct pronuntiation and the correct speech; the accent, the melody of spoken discourse, intonation of speech. 4. Moderating of formal meetings: meetings, conferences, sessions, panel discussions, talk shows, disputations. 5. Moderating of news and press conferences, breefings. 6. The way of moderating of crowd meetings, political meetings, demonstrations and artistic performances, sport matches. 7. Moderating of radio and television programmes. 8. The personal and qualifying preconditions for the profession of the moderator, speaker and reporter. 9. The types of moderators and speakers, the solutions of the conflicts and the art of decision making 10. The politeness and the tact in spoken discourse and spontaneous speech 11. Vocal and motion preparation for the profession 12. Preparation of the performance and its presentation

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Training in job and motor Skils, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
Chosen chapters about moderating, dialogues and other similar genres focused on radio and television. Special attention is paid to typology of questions, solution of conflict situations and language culture of spoken word. Part of course is also practical training of concrete techniques used when making interviews and moderating.
Preparation for professional behaviour in from of microphone, camera and bigger audience. Ability to use different forms of communication (interview, presentation)
Prerequisites
The correct articulation, the art of handling the group discussion, the art of creation and presentation of spoken speeches and understanding of the inhalt of the text. We recommend passing the following courses before signing in Moderating: Contemporary Czech language 2 (KZU/SCJB2).

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Presentation of chosen topic in the class followed by the analysis of the speech.
