Course content
Biosignals and their role in diagnostic information systems. Diagnostic systems for registration of mechanical quantities. Temperature measurement, thermography, thermovision. Biopotentials, formation, recording, diagnostic utilization. X-ray. Dg. methods, skiascopy, skiagraphy. Transmission computed tomography. Optical imaging and laboratory methods. Ultrasound examination methods. Biophysical principles of selected treatment procedures. Lasers. Substitution of kidneys function, artificial hemodialysis.

Learning outcomes
The goal of the course is to explain basic principles of modern diagnostic and therapeutic methods and systems. In cooperation with selected clinics, to carry out practical demonstration of those methods such as X-ray methods, CT, MR, US imaging methods, etc.
Students will be able to understand the basic physical principles of commonly used diagnostic and therapeutic methods in medicine.
Students ought to have fundamental attainments in medical biophysics and physiology.
