Course content
Subject gives basic knowledge in the area of informatics and computer technique and their applications in health practice. Methods of diagnostic data evaluation by means of table processors and presentation of this information in Power Point software. In the area of clinical information systems they are familiarized with software used for administration of doctor?s office in work range of paramedical staff, work with clients file, patient ordering and others. Further, students gain a basic view of health information system functioning and utilization, network service (www, electronic mail) to get orientation to access medical information sources and gain basic information about methods of computed analysis of imaging data.

Learning outcomes
The students will learn basic skills of computer work and procedures, which allow acquiring of actual and useful information in the sphere of health care via new information technology. A part of the course is work with text editors, table editors, network services including electronic mail.
Students acquire ability to orientate in area of basic applied software equipment, use common software for editing, data processing and communication, apply the basic knowledge in the branch of biocybernetics and interpret problems of control systems in biology, rationally use medical instruments with respect for principle knowledge of their action and information signal processing.
Students ought to have fundamental attainments in informatics and computer technology at the secondary education level.
