Course content
1 st. Introduction: what is adictology. Brief look into the history 2nd Terminology field. Calculating blood alcohol 3rd Development approach to alcohol abuse 4th The theory of the origin and development of alcohol dependence 5th Assessment of dependence (according to Jellinek, ICD 10, DSM IV) 6th Alcoholic Mental Disorders 7th The complex system of a psychological diagnosis of dependence 8th Analysis of selected case reports 9th Outpatient treatment of addiction 10th Inpatient treatment of addiction 11th After-treatment and tertiary prevention 12th Self-help groups

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide to students of current knowledge of area alcohol dependence, about the basic concepts of interpretative models of the formation and development of addiction, the possibility of psychological assessment diagnosis and psychotherapy.
The aim of this course is to acquire basic skills in addictology and familiarize with basic psychodiagnostic methods and psychotherapeutic work with pepole who are dependent on alcohol. Students know fundamental theories of etiology of addiction. Students acquire critical a clinical knowledge for practice and for research in this area.
The prerequisite is knowledge of psychopathology and psychological assessment.

active participation in classes. Students translate the scientific article from the field adiktologie and the results presented in front of the group.
